Future Training Center
Future Training Center
In one sentence
The Future Training Center is an open framework proposed in China's vocational-education reform. Its publicly stated core features are "task-driven, data as the link, and intelligence as the engine". It is a framework rather than a mandatory standard: there is no single prescribed blueprint or officially designated supplier.
Definition
The Future Training Center is an open framework for redesigning hands-on training in China's vocational education. Its publicly stated core formula has three parts: task-driven, data as the link, and intelligence as the engine — real workplace tasks organise the learning process, full-process data capture connects teaching, assessment and administration, and AI supports analysis and improvement.
Three core elements
1. Task-driven. Training is organised around authentic workplace tasks, so that observable behaviours are produced during task completion and assessment shifts from scoring outcomes to recording process.
2. Data as the link. What connects equipment, curricula, assessment and administration is data — not the accumulation of hardware. Process-oriented data generated during training therefore becomes the key asset running through every teaching stage.
3. Intelligence as the engine. With data accumulated, AI is introduced for assessment assistance, learner profiling and teaching improvement, converting stored assets into teaching effectiveness.
Status of the framework
The Future Training Center is an open development framework, not a compulsory standard, and there is no unique blueprint or officially designated supplier. Institutions should determine their own path and pace according to their programme structure and digital maturity. Vendors, institutions and integrators should describe their position as "aligned with" or "benchmarked against" the framework — not as "officially designated", "certified sole provider" or "standard drafter".
Why "data as the link" is the hardest part
Of the three elements, data is the most demanding to realise. Training behaviour occurs at individual workstations, is fragmented and momentary: without continuous, low-friction capture during the lesson, the process is lost permanently and downstream analytics have nothing to work with. In practice, the ability to capture and structure process-oriented data is therefore treated as the data backbone of the whole framework.
Notes for institutions
When planning against this framework, three questions matter most: can capture happen naturally during teaching without extra work for staff or students? Is the data structured, searchable and computable? Does the data remain with the institution and integrate with existing academic systems?
